1 Corinthians 3:12-15
Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
today, maybe the most effective way of marketing can be summarised in a word, packaging. as long as the packaging is attractive, there will be consumers. maybe that is why many people starts to be very self conscious. in the terms of what we wear, how we behave in front of others, what we say to others. however, for a company to be successful in the long run, just depending on attractive packaging will not last long. same for human. the quality of the content is far more important than the quality of the outside.
in our own hearts and character, it got to be built on gold and silver. strong solid foundation. not the outwards appearance decorating with glittery gems and gold, but everything falls when the tests come, because the foundation on the inside are made of hays and straws. the best way is, what we are on the inside is what we are on the outside. no masks. because at the end of the day, glittery outward appearance needs loads of maintenance. that is going to drain all energy.
time and tests reveals all things. God reveals and know all things.
was just reading Dr AR Bernard’s tweets. and chance upon what he said, “What we see with our eyes and hear with our ears is colored by the condition of our heart.” it is very true. our perspectives of what we hear and what we see, is not dependent on the source, but on the receiver, us. it is not about others, it is about ourselves. take a look at our hearts today… when you are honest to yourself, which man finds it difficult sometimes, you start to realise colors might have changed without yourself knowing it. that’s why, God says guard your heart.
