Decision

every single time, when we have to make a decision, the answer is either yes or no. sound simple, but we are never good at this. well, at least till we got the experience…

yes for God, no for God. as long as that is the guideline, it should be even simpler? it is even more difficult for many i guess. when i was young, i always wanted to grow up. to become an adult. today, it dawned upon me that growing up is not what i thought it will be like. freedom come along, but with independence and responsibilities. and, courage to face consequences of all decisions and action made. yes, this is growing up.

“The decisions you make now can’t be changed but with years and years of hard work to redo it. In those years you become something different, everybody does as time passes, you get married, you get into debt but you never get to be the same person you are right now. The promise and the potential, is very fickle and it just might not be there anymore. What I’m saying is you’re an adult now. The tough thing about adulthood is it starts even before you know it starts when you are already a dozen decisions into it. But what you need to know is no lifeguard is watching you anymore, you’re on your own. You’re your own man and the decisions you now make are yours and yours alone from here until the end.”

but at every point of life, a important decision is to be made. which path to take? and all these decision, made on the bed, late at night, on the bus… though it is just a moment, we remember it forever, and change our lives forever. at every point in life, we need to make a decision where to go for God. and it is a yes or no answer. closer? yes or no. more radical? yes or no.

in this little red dot, we are far too concerned about the major common decision in life. what sch to go, what course to take, what internship and what career. and because of that, we forgotten that it is the small decisions in our lives that make the huge difference.

but i know, at every point of my life, every point of reference in my life, there is God in it. more of Jesus in my life.
